Karl Viddal, MD

Originally from Canada, Dr. Viddal practiced as a chiropractor in Arizona for several years prior to returning to medical school.  Following graduation, he did his residency with the Bismarck/Hettinger rural family medicine program, graduating in 2019.  He returned to Arizona to join an independent family medicine practice.  In excellent health, Dr. Viddal contracted COVID in the spring and had an extensive hospitalization.  He will visit about his experience as a patient with the coronavirus and also as a physician whose practice has been dramatically changed by the pandemic.

The webinar kicked off with a Physician Advisory Group (PAG) update by Dr. Connell and followed with learning more about COVID-19 vaccines being prepared for distribution.

Dr. Kumar provides a science-based overview of the COVID-19 vaccines shared in the topic: Things You Want to Know About the Vaccine But Are Afraid to Ask. He addresses questions about the mechanisms of action, safety and efficacy.

Ms. Howell, immunization program manager from the ND Dept. of Health, shares the states COVID-19 Vaccination Planning Committee's strategy to implement the statewide management and distribution of the state's allotted COVID vaccines.

 

Kylie Hall, MPH
Mrs. Hall is a project coordinator in the NDSU Department of Public Health Center for Immunization Research and Education. She provides expertise in vaccination policy and practice. Her topic Clinical Trials, Operation Warp Speed, & Vaccinating with Confidence helps participants understand more about COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials and vaccine hesitancy.
