About NDMA

The mission of the North Dakota Medical Association (NDMA) is to advocate for North Dakota’s physicians, to advance the health and promote the well-being of the people of North Dakota.

NDMA is affiliated with eleven District Medical Societies, comprised of NDMA members who participate in activities at the local level.

The legislative and policy-making body of NDMA is the House of Delegates. Delegates are elected by the District Medical Societies and meet annually to consider and adopt NDMA policies. In addition, fourteen North Dakota medical specialty societies are also represented in the NDMA House of Delegates.

The executive body or board of directors of NDMA is the Council, composed of Councillors elected by each of the District Medical Societies.

Much of the work and policy development of NDMA is performed by five Commissions that make recommendations to the NDMA Council: Commission on Socio-Economics, Commission on Ethics, Commission on Legislation, Commission on Medical Education, and Commission on Medical Services and Public Relations. Throughout the year, these commissions meet to discuss topics of importance to North Dakota physicians and their patients.
